Primary and Secondary Treatments
When first searching for drug and alcohol rehab, you aren’t likely thinking long term, but Addiction Advocates will also provide you with a long-term plan to continue your recovery.
Generally, the opening stage of rehab is detox. We promote fast detoxes that are developed and delivered by our addiction experts. As you’ll be in residential rehab, we can provide prescription medication that helps clients who are going through a detox. This is a difficult part of the process and withdrawal symptoms are often a tough part of your detox. Many clients find that this makes detox easier. You’ll also have therapy from the first day you arrive to our clinic, both on an individual basis as well as part of a wider group. You’ll be expected to attend all sessions, both group and individual. Many of our expert team are themselves recovering addicts and as such have plenty of knowledge about the fight ahead of you.
The primary and secondary programme are delivered alongside a variety of holistic therapies and other treatments. The aim of these is to improve both your mind and your body.
Secondary treatment (aftercare) is available to you for 12 months following your initial course of treatment. This year period after you complete rehab is when you’re most at the highest risk of a relapse. It’s essential that a flawless support mechanism is set up for you.
We may also advise that you attend local support groups or local organisations which are available to you in Runcorn. We may also even recommend additional individual therapy if we feel you are struggling to abstain.
Our aftercare specialists will create a plan before you leave the clinic which should leave you able to feel confident and relaxed about your future. By following our treatment programme and staying in touch as part of your aftercare, then you’ll have everything you require to stop you from drinking excessively or taking drugs, which will have a dramatically positive effect on your life.
Benefits of residential rehab
The biggest advantage of residential rehab is that you’re able to be kept away from temptations whilst you’re with us. When you undergo rehab with Addiction Advocates, we will generally require a commitment of 28 days. This is to help us build a rehab programme that really focuses on you and your needs and so that we can be by your side during that extremely difficult first month.
As our detox clinics take place as part of a therapeutic environment we like to concentrate on the positives and benefits of clean living and how much enjoyment there is in life outside of drugs and alcohol. Suffering from a relapse is difficult when it’s so hard to access problem substances of choice. Additionally, you’re also away from the influence of any people that could tempt you to drink or use drugs. Many of our clients express relief to be able to spend time focusing on their recovery rather than worrying about external factors that could lead to temptation.
All of our clinics guarantee a tranquil environment that is the ideal place to undergo treatment. We have private and en-suite rooms which are comfortable and luxurious.
